Wilco Lyrics

You Are My Face

I remember my mother'sSister's husband's brotherWorking in the goldmine full-timeFilling in for sunshineFiling into tight linesOf ordinary beehivesThe door screams I hate youHate you hanging around my blue jeansWhy is there no breezeNo currency of leavesNo current through the water wireNo feelings I can seeI trust no emotionI believe in locomotionBut I've turned to rust as we've discussedThough I must have let you downToo many timesIn the dirt and the dust I have no idea how this happensAll of my maps have been overthrownHappenstance has changed my plansSo many times my heart has been outgrownNow everybody's feeling all aloneCan't tell you who I am When everybody's feeling all aloneCan't tell you who I am I am looking forwardToward the shadows tracing bonesOur faces stitched and sewingOur houses hemmed into homesTrying to be thankfulOur stories fit into phones And our voices lift so easilyA gift given accidentallyWhen we're not sureWe're not alone Written by Jeff Tweedy and Nels ClineInstrumental CreditsJeff Tweedy – vocals, electric guitarJohn Stirratt – vocals, bassGlenn Kotche – drums Mikael Jorgensen – piano Nels Cline – lead electric 12-stringPat Sansone – vocals, acoustic guitar, Hammond A100 organJim O'Rourke – feedback

  1. Before the trip, I kept thinking about it in terms of getting to see Wilco and a bunch of other artists I love (Sharon Van Etten, Dr. Dog, Courtney Barnett, Kamasi Washington). And I thought about getting to be at the beach in January. But the two things together were more wonderful than I could have possibly imagined. '- Sky Blue Sky 2020 Guest.
  2. A four night, all-inclusive concert vacation curated by @wilco. Join us in tropics - January 2022. Stay tuned for info.

Referencing Sky Blue Sky, 2x12', Album, RE, Hal, 89 I just found a new copy of this pressing at Amoeba Records in Berkeley, so I'm not sure that it was exclusively a German club pressing. Matrix run outs match and everything.
